This policy covers cookies and similar technologies on maxpierceconsulting.co.uk, operated by Max Pierce Consulting Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 15996499. Our registered and trading address is 25 Rednal Road, Birmingham B38 8DT.
For questions about cookies or privacy, contact Jason Culloo, our Privacy Contact, at [email protected] or telephone 0121 537 7469. You can also write to the address above. Our Privacy Policy explains our wider use of personal information, international processing, your rights and how to complain.
Cookies are small files stored on your device. Similar technologies include local storage, tracking pixels and technologies that access information on your device. They can support site security, remember preferences or measure how a website is used. Information associated with them may include online identifiers, IP addresses, device details and browsing activity; it is not necessarily anonymous.
First-party technologies are set by the website you visit. Third-party technologies are set by another provider. Session cookies normally end when you close your browser; persistent cookies remain for their specified lifetime unless deleted earlier. Lifetimes vary by technology and configuration: there is no single six-month expiry for every cookie.
We apply the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (as amended), the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 where applicable. Our policy is to use only technologies needed for a defined purpose and to obtain prior, freely given, specific and informed consent for optional technologies. Merely visiting the site, scrolling, continuing to browse or reading this policy does not give that consent.
| Category | Purpose and policy |
|---|---|
| Essential operation and security | Technologies genuinely needed to provide a service you request, transmit a communication, maintain security or remember your cookie choices may operate without consent where the relevant legal exception applies. A technology is not essential simply because it is useful to our business. |
| Preferences and functionality | Optional features or personalisation, where enabled, are subject to consent under our policy unless a specific legal exception applies to the requested feature. |
| Analytics and measurement | Where enabled, these help understand website use. They are not automatically strictly necessary. Our policy is to obtain consent for optional analytics. Any reliance on a statutory exception requires a separate assessment and fulfilment of all its conditions, including appropriate information and any required simple, free objection mechanism. |
| Advertising and cross-site tracking | These are optional technologies and require consent before use. This category describes the rule that applies if such tools are introduced; it does not mean advertising tools are currently deployed. |
| Third-party content | Embedded media and other external features may involve a third party accessing your device. Our policy requires consent before activating any non-exempt storage or access associated with those features. |
These categories describe our rules; they are not a verified inventory of every technology active on every page. Technologies can vary between a public visit, use of a particular feature and a signed-in administrative session. Where optional tools are enabled, the information accompanying the choice must identify the relevant providers, purposes and cookie or technology lifetimes before consent is requested. We do not treat an old cookie list as proof of current deployment or classification.
Our policy requires any consent mechanism to offer a clear way to accept, reject and choose between optional purposes, with optional purposes off until you agree. Rejecting optional technologies should not prevent access to the basic website. You must be able to withdraw consent as easily as you gave it, and your choice must be respected on later visits, subject to the lifetime of the preference record.
Where a cookie preference control is available, use it to review or change your choices. If you cannot find a control or believe an optional technology is operating against your wishes, please contact us using the details above so we can investigate and address it. An email request is not a substitute for obtaining prior consent or providing an effective on-site withdrawal mechanism.
You can also use your browser settings to view, block or delete cookies and site data. Blocking essential technologies may affect security or requested features. Deleting cookies may erase the record of your choices, so you may need to choose again. Browser settings alone do not excuse us from our own consent obligations.
Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. Where applicable, you can also object to direct marketing and exercise the rights explained in our Privacy Policy.
Searchstack hosts our website and may support its operation and security. Hosting itself does not make every cookie essential. If we introduce an analytics, advertising or embedded-content provider, we must assess its role, the information involved, its contractual safeguards and any international transfers, and provide appropriate information before enabling non-exempt technologies.
We do not sell cookie information. Our policy prohibits using optional tracking information for a new, incompatible purpose without the necessary information and lawful basis, including fresh consent where required. Cookies and online identifiers can involve privacy risks; we do not describe analytics as risk-free.
We review this policy and the information supporting cookie choices when our tools, purposes or legal obligations change. Where a new purpose requires consent, we seek fresh consent before using the technology for that purpose. Updating this policy does not by itself create consent or override your choices. The date above identifies the latest policy update.
